About A+ Resume

A+ Resume is designed to support jobseekers and students in perfecting their resumes. The app evaluates resumes across essential criteria like writing, content, and format, assigns a grade, and provides practical feedback to help users stand out.

The Challenge

The client approached us with an idea but no clear direction on how to bring it to life. Our challenge was to design an intuitive, user-friendly app where users could simply upload their resumes and instantly receive a grade, like 1, 2, 3. We focused on creating an experience that was both incredibly simple and highly effective.

Make it easy to see feedback and get actionable insights on resume content, format, and structure.

Display grades in a clear, digestible format and guide users on how to improve based on their score.

A+ Resume was aimed at helping job seekers, students, professionals seeking career advancement, and individuals reentering the workforce by providing clear feedback to improve their resumes and increase their chances of being noticed by hiring managers.

The Outcome

Strategic Sign-Up Prompts Built into the Upload Experience

We anticipated user challenges and designed an easy-to-follow upload process with real-time progress updates and clear error messages. By showing users exactly what was happening at each step, we kept them engaged and reassured throughout. To encourage sign-ups, we let users upload resumes without an account but prompted them to create one to see their results.

Results & Recommendations

Clear Results and Actionable Recommendations

We designed the results page to be straightforward and user-friendly, with grades for content, formatting, and writing displayed in a clear, visual format. Errors were highlighted upfront so users could instantly see what needed improvement. Alongside this, AI-powered recommendations were laid out in an actionable way, making it easy for users to refine their resumes.

Resume Tracker

Resume History with Upgradeable Credits

Users can track their progress by accessing a history of all their uploaded resumes and grades. To give them a preview, we allowed the upload of 2-3 resumes for free, allowing them to see the results before deciding to upgrade and purchase more credits.

Product Promotion

Website to Promote the Product

The website clearly conveys the AI's capabilities from the start, helping users quickly understand its value. This allows them to make an informed decision to sign up and upload their resume. The design is modern and unique, capturing attention while offering an intuitive user experience.

The Impact

The theme for EDIT's project revolved around the word 'experience.' We set EDIT up for success in an increasingly saturated and competitive market by going beyond their product offering and taking their customers through an experience they would want to return to.
